Tour 1: CULTURE AND HISTORY

Berlin is definitely one of the most interesting cities in Europe. In recent years the German capital was characterized by constant changes. During this trip you will take a closer look at Berlin's history and will get opportunity to immerse yourself in the city's culture...

Day 1 Individual arrival. You will be picked up and transferred directly to your hotel. In the afternoon a 4 hours city tour will show you around from the Kurfürstendamm in Western Berlin to Alexanderplatz in the Eastern city centre. A stop at Museum Island invites you to visit the world famous Pergamon Museum and take part in a guided tour of 1 hour (alternatively you can choose to visit the Bode Museum or the Old National Gallery). Afterwards our bus takes you back to your hotel where dinner is served.

Day 2 Today you will go on an 8 hours excursion to learn more about Berlin's culture and history. After breakfast our bus brings you to Kurfürstendamm where you will visit the exciting exhibition "The Story of Berlin". Here you will find 23 theme rooms equipped with up to date animation technology which make you experience 800 years of history from the beginnings to today. Part of the 2 hours visit is a guided tour through an original nuclear shelter underneath the Ku'Damm Karree building. After lunch you can enjoy Berlin from the water side during a 1 hour boat trip through the new government district, followed by another highlight - a guided visit of the beautiful opera house "Staatsoper Unter Den Linden" where you will discover the building as well as the stage area and learn many interesting details before your bus picks you up for the transfer back to your hotel. Diner takes place in the hotel.

We recommend to spend the evening in one of the numerous theatres, cabarets etc. If you speak German you could for example visit the Grips Youth theatre, with a very interesting choice of plays related to life in Berlin like "Linie 1". Or maybe you prefer cabaret, for example in the BKA Berliner Kabarett Anstalt high above the rooftops of Berlin Kreuzberg.

Day 3 Right after breakfast you will check out and our bus takes you to the city center. Here a 3 hours walking tour with one of our experienced guides will let you discover the sites of Berlin's recent history. At Brandenburg Gate you will be introduced to the numerous embassies in the neighbourhood and to the reconstructed luxury hotel Adlon. Afterwards our bus takes you back to your hotel where dinner is served.

Day 2 After breakfast the bus awaits you for an 8 hours excursion in Berlin. Together with one of our experienced city guides you will discover the political centre of the town. The visit of the Reichstag building forms the first highlight of the day. (Attention: a registration is necessary about 3 months beforehand. Visits are only possible during weeks which are free of meetings!) Afterwards you visit the dome of the Reichstag. From here you have a fantastic look over Berlin which allows you to take an exciting time trip of Berlin of the last centuries to the Potsdamer Platz.

After the lunch a 1,5 - 2 hours city walking tour in the historical embassy quarter in Berlin Tiergarten offers you  the opportunity to visit a huge number of diplomatic representations for example the Austrian, the Indian, the Japanese or the Nordic embassies. Perhaps, the entrance halls of different embassies can be visited from the inside as well.
